A multimedia powerhouse – The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro is also a good productivity tool
On a recent trip out of town, I didn’t know what to carry with me. But then the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro arrived. Unlike most other tabs, this sported a 10.1-inch screen, a cylindrical edge housing its battery, kickstand and a projector! It has a slot for a microSD card below the kickstand and one can also hang it.
Next, I fired up Riptide GP2 and Real Racer 3 in quick succession, sans earphones, and had an immersive experience because of the front JBL speakers, the Dolby Atmos software and of course the 2.24Ghz Intel quad-core Atom processor.
That night I found the pre-installed Netflix app and navigated to Season 2 of Suits. And I watched it on the ceiling with the built-in projector. Of course, the resolution of the projected image was much lower than the tab’s screen and sometimes, notifications in the background (when one had one too many apps open) made the video stutter. I also discovered typing on the screen was very easy, after placing the tab on a table using the kickstand.
At Rs 39,990, the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro is a multimedia powerhouse and a good productivity tool, provided you can live with its weight (it’s 666g) and a slightly bloated interface.
