Tim Cook now goes by ‘Tim Apple’ on Twitter

Apple CEO Tim Cook wants us all to know that he’s in on the joke.

A day after President Trump sent the Twittersphere into a wisecracking frenzy by addressing Cook as “Tim Apple” during a press conference following the first-ever meeting of the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board, Cook added his own response to the mix.

The Mobile, Ala.-born CEO, who didn’t react when Trump seemingly forgot his last name while thanking him for Apple’s investments in the US, took to the social network to make the name-change official.

Cook’s display name now reads simply “Tim” followed by Apple’s famous logo.

In the White House’s official transcript of Trump’s remarks, the president did not flub Cook’s name. It instead employed a carefully placed em-dash.

“We appreciate it very much, Tim — Apple,” the transcript reads.

Cook’s new emoji surname comes a week after Tesla CEO Elon Musk briefly changed his display name to “Elon Tusk,” alongside an elephant emoji.
