Trump rips Fox News for using New York Times ‘as a source’

Donald Trump blasted Fox News on Twitter Sunday night — saying the news giant “is now loading up with Democrats” and “even using Fake unsourced New York Times as a ‘source’ of information.”
“Watching @FoxNews weekend anchors is worse than watching low ratings Fake News @CNN or Lyin’ Brian Williams,” Trump tweeted. “(Remember when he totally fabricated a War Story trying to make himself into a hero, got fired. A very dishonest journalist!).”
Firing off two more tweets, the president said: “And the crew of degenerate Comcast (NBC/MSNBC) Trump haters, who do whatever Brian & Steve tell them to do. Like CNN, NBC is also way down in the ratings. But @FoxNews, who failed in getting the very BORING Dem debates, is now loading up with Democrats & even using Fake unsourced @nytimes as a ‘source’ of information (ask the Times what they paid for the Boston Globe, & what they sold it for (lost 1.5 Billion Dollars), or their old headquarters building disaster, or their unfunded liability? @FoxNews is changing fast, but they forgot the people who got them there!”
It was initially unclear what Fox News program Trump was referring to in his tweets or what story he was talking about that attributed to the Times. He decided to single out a few names later on in the night.
“Impossible to believe that @FoxNews has hired @donnabrazile, the person fired by @CNN (after they tried to hide the bad facts, & failed) for giving Crooked Hillary Clinton the questions to a debate,” Trump tweeted, calling the move “something unimaginable.”
“Now she is all over Fox, including Shep Smith, by far their lowest rated show,” the president said. “Watch the @FoxNews weekend daytime anchors, who are terrible, go after her big time. That’s what they want – but it sure is not what the audience wants!”
Brazile, a former CNN political strategist, served as vice chair and interim Democratic National Committee chairwoman before stepping down in 2016 amid its hacked email scandal. She had allegedly tipped off Hilary Clinton’s campaign team about debate questions that she was supposed to be asked prior to a face-off with Bernie Sanders.
Brazile, 59, has been serving as a commentator for Fox since March.
“There’s an audience on Fox News that doesn’t hear enough from Democrats,” she said at the time.
It’s unclear if Brazile appeared on the network Sunday.
White House officials had been condemning a report earlier in the day that the New York Times had published on its front page, which claimed migrant children were living in terrible conditions at federal detention centers along the southern US border. But it’s unclear if Fox chose to cover it on Sunday. Trump, himself, took to Twitter to denounce the allegations.
“The Fake News Media, in particular the Failing @nytimes, is writing phony and exaggerated accounts of the Border Detention Centers,” the president tweeted. “First of all, people should not be entering our Country illegally, only for us to then have to care for them. We should be allowed to focus on United States Citizens first. Border Patrol, and others in Law Enforcement, have been doing a great job.”
Trump added, “We said there was a Crisis – the Fake News & the Dems said it was ‘manufactured.’ Now all agree we were right, but they always knew that.”
