Trump slams Jeff Bezos over affair, calls him Jeff ‘Bozo’
By: Joe T.
President Trump mocked Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos over his recently-revealed affair while praising the National Enquirer and slamming the newspaper owned by Bezos’ company.
“So sorry to hear the news about Jeff Bozo,” the president tweeted, referring to Bezos as “Bozo.”
“…being taken down by a competitor whose reporting, I understand, is far more accurate than the reporting in his lobbyist newspaper, the Amazon Washington Post.”
The “competitor” Trump was referring to was the National Enquirer — which published a story that exposed damning text messages between Bezos and former TV anchor Lauren Sanchez.
Shortly before the story ran, Bezos announced that he is separating from his wife.
Trump has a history with the supermarket tabloid that he praised.
In December, the National Enquirer’s parent company admitted to paying a woman who alleged an affair with Trump. They said they paid her in order to “suppress the woman’s story” and “prevent it from influencing the election.”
The president did not mention those details in his tweet.
Trump went on to suggest that Bezos and Amazon may lose the Washington Post, although there was no indication whether that might happen.
“Hopefully the paper will soon be placed in better & more responsible hands!”
